Hong Kong Labour Department Schedules Occupational Health Public Talks

Two free public talks in February address occupational stress and back injury prevention.
The Hong Kong Labour Department has announced two public talks in February 2025 aimed at promoting occupational health awareness.

The first session, titled “Occupational Stress,” is scheduled for February 20 at 6.30pm at the Lecture Theatre of the Hong Kong Central Library, located at 66 Causeway Road in Causeway Bay.

An occupational health nurse from the department will lead the talk, which will cover the symptoms and health impacts of occupational stress as well as strategies to cope with it.

The second talk, titled “Manual Handling Operations and Prevention of Back Injuries,” is set for February 24 at 3.30pm at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Science Museum, located at 2 Science Museum Road in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

This session will be presented by an occupational hygienist and an occupational health nurse, and will focus on the structure and functions of the back, the causes of back injuries, preventive measures, and proper manual handling techniques through demonstrations and practice of workplace exercises.

Both talks will be conducted in Cantonese, and admission is free.

Pre-registration is required and can be completed online at www.oshsreg.gov.hk/en.
