Cash-Rich Buyers Dive into Hong Kong's Real Estate Market

Hong Kong's property market is regaining interest from wealthy investors after the removal of cooling measures. Notable buyers include Francis Yuen Tin-fan and actress Ada Choi Siu-fan, purchasing multi-million-dollar properties. The luxury segment is more stable compared to the mass market, with significantly reduced prices attracting cash-rich buyers.
Hong Kong's property market is experiencing renewed interest from wealthy investors following the removal of decade-old cooling measures.

Notable buyers include Francis Yuen Tin-fan, former CEO of the Hong Kong stock exchange, who along with his wife Rose Lee Wai-mun, purchased a two-bedroom flat in Pok Fu Lam's Bel-Air residences for HK$15.2 million (US$1.9 million).

Yuen is known for selling a luxury house at 22 Barker Road on The Peak for HK$1.5 billion in 2015.

Actress Ada Choi Siu-fan and her husband Zhang Jin acquired a 2,562 sq ft house in Yuen Long for HK$44 million.

Wong Pui-fan, widow of Shun Hing Holdings founder William Mong Man-wai, bought multiple properties, including a flat in Dynasty Court for HK$51.2 million and eight units in Blue Coast for HK$140 million.

Experts like Raymond Tsoi and Lucia Leung note that the luxury segment is experiencing more stability compared to the mass market, with some properties selling for significantly reduced prices.

Despite high interest rates, the influx of wealthy buyers indicates optimism about long-term market prospects.
