Hong Kong’s Department of Justice has formed an expert committee of thirteen members to provide strategic guidance on promoting the city’s professional services to mainland Chinese companies aiming to expand internationally.

The Expert Committee on Professional Services for Going Global, announced on January nine and chaired by the Deputy Secretary for Justice, brings together leaders from legal, financial and accounting sectors from both Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, as well as prominent business representatives, all appointed for a two-year term.

The initiative builds on the Professional Services GoGlobal Platform launched by the government in December, which seeks to leverage Hong Kong’s internationally oriented legal, financial and accounting expertise to support mainland enterprises in navigating complex overseas markets.

Committee members will advise on deepening understanding of mainland firms’ needs and enhancing collaboration between Hong Kong’s professional services sector and Chinese enterprises embarking on international expansion.

Meeting a stated priority of the city’s policy framework, the committee aims to facilitate connections, promote best practices and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a regional hub for outbound business growth.

By integrating professional expertise with government coordination mechanisms, the panel underscores the city’s role as a strategic gateway and support base for mainland companies seeking sustained global engagement and commercial success.
