Kaneko Optical Establishes International Headquarters in Hong Kong Amid Global Expansion

Japanese eyewear brand Kaneko Optical upgrades Hong Kong office to international headquarters and opens second concept store in Tsim Sha Tsui
Japanese handcrafted eyewear brand Kaneko Optical has elevated its Hong Kong office to serve as its international headquarters, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy.

This development coincides with the opening of its second concept store in Hong Kong, located in Tsim Sha Tsui, following the launch of its first directly managed store in Central in November 2024.

The Hong Kong office will oversee the brand's overseas branding and merchandising operations, encompassing existing wholesale destinations in over 20 countries as of the end of 2024. Additionally, it will gradually assume responsibility for international sales development and corporate treasury management outside of Japan.

The newly opened concept store in Tsim Sha Tsui represents Kaneko Optical's largest presence outside of Japan.

The location was selected to capitalize on the diverse retail environment and the influx of tourists from ASEAN countries and the Middle East.

Kaneko Optical, established in 1958 as an eyeglass wholesaler, has evolved into a recognized trendsetter in the Japanese eyewear industry.

The company engages in the planning, design, and sales of its eyewear brands and actively collaborates with major collections and apparel manufacturers to create original brands.

The first directly managed store in Hong Kong, situated in the historic Pedder Building in Central, offers handcrafted eyewear produced at the brand's factories in Japan, along with optical services.

The Pedder Building, constructed in 1924, is a Grade I historic building known for its Beaux-Arts architecture and houses several internationally renowned galleries.
