Hong Kong Department of Justice Hosts Inaugural LawTech Roundtable
Initiative aims to enhance legal sector's understanding and adoption of legal technology and artificial intelligence

Other members of the Consultation Group, including Stephanie Siu, Jonathan Voo, and Sharyn Ch'ang, facilitated group discussions.
The DoJ established the Consultation Group on LawTech Development in January 2025 to explore strategies for promoting the integration of legal services and technology in Hong Kong.
The group comprises representatives from the legal and dispute resolution sectors, academia, and experts in LawTech applications.
To support the adoption of LawTech, the DoJ has implemented initiatives such as the LawTech Fund and the Hong Kong Legal Cloud services.
These programs aim to subsidize small and medium-sized law firms and chambers in enhancing their information technology capabilities.
As of February 2025, over 4,000 local legal professionals have benefited from these services.
