Government Gazettes Proposed Road Works for Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter Expansion

Plans include two open spaces and a pedestrian walkway connecting Shum Wan Road and Tai Shue Wan
The Hong Kong Government has gazetted proposed road works as part of the planned expansion of the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter.

The project includes the development of two public open spaces—one located on the existing breakwater connecting Shum Wan Road and another at a proposed breakwater in Tai Shue Wan.

In addition to the open spaces, the proposal includes a pedestrian walkway linking Ocean Drive to the new open space at Tai Shue Wan.

These infrastructure additions are intended to support access and recreational use as part of the overall expansion of the typhoon shelter.

The gazette notice, detailed scheme, and accompanying plans have been made available for public inspection at several government offices: the Central and Western Home Affairs Enquiry Centre, the Southern Home Affairs Enquiry Centre, and the District Lands Office for Hong Kong West and South.

Digital versions can be accessed via the Transport and Logistics Bureau’s official website.

Individuals who wish to submit objections to the proposed works or the intended use of the space must send written notices to the Secretary for Transport and Logistics.

Submissions can be delivered by post, in person via Drop-in Box No. 6 at the Central Government Offices, or sent via fax or email.

All objections must include a description of the objector’s interest and the nature of the expected impact, along with contact details.

The deadline for submitting objections is August 12, 2025.
