Hong Kong Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Continues Official Visit to Beijing

Rosanna Law meets with mainland cultural, film, and sports authorities to deepen cooperation in arts, cinema, and heritage
Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), continued her official visit to Beijing on April 3, engaging in a series of meetings with key cultural and governmental bodies.

The visit included discussions with representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the China Film Administration, and the General Administration of Sport of China.

In the morning, Miss Law toured the 'Ancient China' exhibition at the National Museum of China.

She later met with Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Gao Zheng, with whom she discussed preparations for the upcoming Asia Cultural Co-Operation Forum 2025. Scheduled for April 22 and 23, the forum will focus on the theme 'Connect, Create, Engage: Bridging Cultures for all.' Law expressed gratitude for the Ministry’s continued support and shared her views on enhancing Hong Kong's museum experience.

Vice Minister Gao noted that the National Museum of China would support the HKSAR Government in developing a museum to showcase China’s development and would assist in preparing exhibitions commemorating the eightieth anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.

In the afternoon, Miss Law met with Mao Yu, Executive Deputy Director-General of the China Film Administration.

Discussions focused on expanded liberalisation measures under the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), which have improved Hong Kong’s access to the Mainland film market.

Mr Mao acknowledged the talent among Hong Kong’s young filmmakers and expressed interest in enhancing opportunities for cross-border collaboration.

Miss Law stated her intention to work closely with the China Film Administration to strengthen exchanges between the film sectors of both regions.

Later in the day, Miss Law visited the Hall of Honor at the Training Center of the General Administration of Sport of China.

Guided by Director Yang Xinli, she was introduced to stories of national athletes’ perseverance and achievements.

The visit aimed to highlight the values of resilience and dedication within China’s sports community and share these experiences as examples for athletes in Hong Kong.

Miss Law is scheduled to return to Hong Kong on April 4.
