Hong Kong Secures Over 60 Major MICE Events to Boost Tourism

Hong Kong Tourism Board attracts significant international meetings and exhibitions, reinforcing the city's status as a global hub.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has successfully secured more than 60 large-scale international Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) events scheduled between 2024 and 2026. These events are expected to attract over 180,000 visitors from Mainland China and overseas, significantly contributing to the city's tourism sector.

The secured events span various industries, including innovation and technology, medical sciences, financial services, aviation, architecture, and education.

Notable upcoming events include:

ACM SIGGRAPH Asia 2025: Returning to Hong Kong after its last conference in 2013, this event is a premier conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques.

SmartCon 2024 and Consensus Hong Kong 2025: These inaugural conventions in the innovation and technology sector are set to position Hong Kong as a leading hub for technological advancements.

Super Terminal Expo 2024, Routes World 2025, and Airspace Asia Pacific 2025 & 2027: Key aviation sector events highlighting Hong Kong's strategic role in global air transport and logistics.

World Cancer Congress 2026 and International Federation of Landscape Architects World Congress 2026: First-time hosts in Hong Kong, these congresses will draw professionals worldwide to discuss advancements in their respective fields.

In addition to these, Hong Kong will host the inaugural IBTM Asia Pacific 2025, a flagship trade show for the MICE industry, anticipated to attract over 1,500 professionals from the region and beyond.

This event underscores Hong Kong's position as a 'super-connector' in the Greater Bay Area, facilitating international business collaborations.

The HKTB has implemented several strategies to maintain this growth momentum, including offering funding schemes to support events of varying scales, enhancing in-town experiences for visitors through value-added activities, and promoting Hong Kong's unique advantages as a global business hub.

These efforts align with Hong Kong's broader strategy to enhance its status as a global events capital, driving economic growth and benefiting multiple sectors, including tourism, hospitality, catering, and retail.
