Special Traffic Arrangements Implemented for Race Meeting in Happy Valley

Road closures, diversions, and parking restrictions in effect on June 11 to manage race day traffic flow
Special traffic arrangements have been implemented in Happy Valley on June 11 in connection with a race meeting.

Measures will remain in effect until crowds disperse following the event.

Prior to the first race, the following road closures and diversions will be in place from 50 minutes before the start of day races, or from 6 p.m. for night races:

- Southbound Wong Nai Chung Road between Queen’s Road East and the up-ramp outside the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) will be closed, except for traffic heading to Aberdeen Tunnel.

- Southbound Wong Nai Chung Road between Village Road and the HKJC up-ramp will be re-routed to one-way northbound.

- Eastbound traffic on Queen’s Road East will be diverted to Morrison Hill Road.

- Southbound Morrison Hill Road traffic will be diverted via Sports Road and Wong Nai Chung Road.

- Vehicles from the Cross Harbour Tunnel heading for Queen’s Road East or Happy Valley will be redirected via Canal Road flyover and adjacent roads.

Approximately 35 minutes before the final race, additional closures and diversions will be implemented:

- Closure of the HKJC up-ramp to Aberdeen Tunnel, sections of Wong Nai Chung Road, Leighton Road, and Morrison Hill Road.

- Southbound Wong Nai Chung Road near the HKJC will be fully closed 10 minutes before the last race.

- Diversions include limited access on Queen’s Road East and rerouting of traffic from the Cross Harbour Tunnel and Morrison Hill Road.

Learner drivers will face restrictions from 90 minutes before the first race until one hour after the last.

Affected roads include Caroline Hill Road, Shan Kwong Road, Village Road, Percival Street, Canal Road East, and a service road from Gloucester Road.

Parking spaces on Wong Nai Chung Road between Sports Road and Blue Pool Road will be suspended from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for day racing and from 5 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. for night racing.

Illegally parked vehicles in restricted zones will be towed without warning and may be subject to multiple penalties.

Implementation details may be adjusted by police depending on actual traffic conditions.
