Hong Kong Opens 53rd Round of Northbound Vehicle Travel Ballot Registration

Eligible private car owners can register online from May nineteenth to May twenty-second for cross-border travel via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge
The Hong Kong Transport Department has announced that the fifty-third round of computer ballot registration for the Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles scheme will be open from ten a.m. on May nineteenth until eleven fifty-nine p.m. on May twenty-second.

The results of the ballot will be released on May twenty-third.

This scheme permits eligible Hong Kong private car owners to apply for a Closed Road Permit, allowing them to drive into Guangdong Province via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge without the need for a regular quota.

Applicants must register through the designated website during the specified period.

Successful applicants will be required to submit their applications within the designated application period.

To qualify, applicants must be Hong Kong residents holding valid Hong Kong Identity Cards and Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macao Residents.

They must also possess valid driving licences for both Hong Kong and the Mainland.

The vehicle in question must be a non-commercial private car registered under the applicant's name, with a seating capacity of eight or fewer including the driver and a length not exceeding six metres.

Each applicant may designate up to two drivers, including themselves, to operate the vehicle in the Mainland.

Designated drivers must meet the same residency and licensing requirements as the applicant.

Vehicles that have obtained quotas under other cross-boundary schemes are not eligible for this program.

Applicants are advised to ensure that their vehicles meet the necessary roadworthiness standards and that they have secured the required insurance coverage for both Hong Kong and Mainland jurisdictions.

Detailed information on eligibility criteria, application procedures, and required documentation is available on the scheme's official website.
